WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MAY 14, 2019) — The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation will host its 14th annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 24, at the Williamsport Country Club.
Registration begins 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The tournament, presented by returning platinum sponsor Aramark, will benefit the Athletic Program Endowment Fund at WASDEF. Support of the event will continue to build the newly established endowment fund, which will provide a future permanent funding source to help offset capital improvement and/or program needs of the WASD athletic department.
The tournament is open to all businesses and individuals willing to participate.
Entry fees are $125 per player or $500 a foursome, which includes a golf polo, lunch and post-event refreshments, on-course snacks and beverages, and green and cart fees.
Contest hole and foursome prizes will be awarded following the event.
“Since the education foundation began partnering with the athletic department more than a decade ago, proceeds from this event have helped to provide more than $65,000 for capital projects,” said WASDEF Executive Director Greg Hayes. “Monies raised have helped to support the renovations to the WAHS fitness center and the foundation’s Return to Glory capital campaign, which funded the upgrades made to STA Stadium.”
Beginning last year, Hayes said it was decided that tournament proceeds would be directed to support and jump-start the revenues needed to grow the new endowment fund, “which will ultimately help enhance our students’ health and wellness experience at WASD.”
Corporate, individual and team sponsorships are available.
