WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 18, 2024) — The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation (WASDEF) is seeking nominations for the district’s 2024 Distinguished Alumni Awards.
The 2024 recipients will be celebrated and recognized during its second annual Cherry + White Appreciation Night on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Up to four individuals can be recognized in the following categories:
- Outstanding Young Alumnus Award: Given to an alumnus who has graduated 15 years ago or less. This award recognizes outstanding service and accomplishments of an exceptional alumnus of Williamsport Area High School. Areas of service may include but not limited to professional, personal, and civic.
- Distinguished Alumni Service Award: Given to an alumnus who has provided outstanding service to his/her profession, community, and/or Williamsport Area School District. This may include but is not limited to work focused on improving a career area and/or leadership within community organizations.
- Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award: Given to an alumnus who has modeled and employed a focus on achievement within his/her profession. This may include but not limited to improving a field of work as well as inspiring others to improve by being a role model for continuous learning.
- Distinguished Alumni Humanitarian Award: Given to an alumnus who has provided extraordinary service for the benefit of others. This may include but not limited to work focused on schools, community development, and/or creating a sustainable future.

Since 2012, 23 graduates have been inducted as Distinguished Alumni.
The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation is a recognized nonprofit affiliate of the school district.
